My passion is to improve the lives of those who have experienced early trauma, especially those in the world of foster care and adoption. I am committed to staying at the cutting edge of research in the field to provide the highest level of efficacy in my work with families, fellow therapists, educators and other professionals. The field of developmental neuroscience is exploding right now, offering ample opportunity to improve outcomes and increase healthy functioning, even in situations that might feel hopeless.
My professional life has been profoundly improved by the application of brain science in my practice. I’m thrilled to be able to pass that along to the clinicians I supervise as well as parents and professionals. We are all trying to provide the best care we can while avoiding burnout and vicarious trauma, so I founded BraveBrains to help! I’m also proud to share Riley the Brave and Raily el valiente with the world and look forward to its future as a unique and engaging picture book series for children to enjoy with the safe adults in their lives.
